1-31-2020 --- University of Oregon DMR team sets new collegiate indoor record U of O's DMR team of James West / Jacob Miller / Charlie Hunter and Cooper Teare combined for a time of 9:24.52 to beat the 12-year-old NCAA record of 9:25.97 set by Texas in 2008. The team of West (2:53.53), Miller (47.47), Hunter (1:48.08) and Teare (3:55.45) shaved more than two second off the previous Oregon record, as well. The old UO mark of 9:26.78 was set in 2011 by the team of Mac Fleet, Mike Berry, Elijah Greer and Matthew Centrowitz. Oregon now owns five current NCAA records. Collectively, the Ducks now hold all-time collegiate bests in the women's 60 meters, men's mile, men's and women's distance-medley relays and heptathlon. |
